How to recover missing photos from your computer. Recovering Deleted Photos

Every amateur photographer treats pictures from his own photo collection with trepidation and worries a lot when he loses some valuable images - after all, some moments of our life, alas, are not repeated and it is often impossible to re-shoot a unique frame. But no one is immune from mistakes and accidents, and few amateur photographers and even professionals have not “torn their hair out” after accidentally deleting photos while moving them to a computer due to their own carelessness or a failure in the camera’s power supply. This is far from exhausting the list of situations in which there is a risk of losing valuable footage - you can accidentally clear the memory card or format it simply by pressing the wrong button, or lose photos due to improper handling of the camera or memory card (turn off the camera during data transfer process, removing the memory card while the camera is on, etc.), software failure or hardware malfunction. A similar picture occurs with regard to the photo archive as a whole, which is usually stored on a hard drive and other digital media, because from here images can be deleted accidentally, and the media itself can be formatted.

Therefore, it is better to play it safe and acquire a utility in advance - a “photo resuscitator”, which in such situations will help bring dear shots to life. There is a lot of such software on the market, but as an example we will focus on the most attractive solutions from the perspective of a Russian amateur photographer. All of them allow you to restore, to one degree or another, accidentally deleted or lost pictures, but to achieve success it is important not to waste time and follow certain rules of the game.

How to properly restore photos

The most important thing is to start restoring accidentally deleted and lost photographs as quickly as possible (ideally, immediately after deleting them), although in practice there are often cases of restoring even long-lost photographs. However, there are no guarantees that the unique photograph you need will be among these “long-livers”, so you should not hesitate.

In order for the chances of recovery to be maximized, it is necessary to completely exclude any activity on the device where the deleted or lost photos are located - it is strictly forbidden to save other files on this device (if it is a camera, then take pictures on it), change data on it and run programs (assuming we are talking about a disk), since all these operations can lead to overwriting of the images of interest. If you need to restore data on the system drive in order to prevent overwriting, it is best to remove the hard drive with deleted images and connect it to another computer as a secondary one, and only then begin the recovery process.

To directly restore photos, you should run a utility installed on your computer, which is specifically designed to solve this kind of problem, and scan the digital media in it. As a rule, corresponding solutions provide two modes of data analysis: quick scanning and deep analysis. Quick scanning is carried out by analyzing file records and allows you to find deleted images using the available information in the file system (usually in this case it is possible to restore all information about the images: file name, date, attributes, etc.). When using deep analysis, all sectors are sequentially scanned on the device, and files are searched by signatures (that is, by the contents of the files). Naturally, such a search requires much more time, but it is possible to find and restore not only deleted images, but also images lost for some reason. In order to speed up the scanning process, a number of solutions provide functionality for limiting the search area by data type (images, videos, etc.), format (JPEG, RAW, etc.), file name, etc.

And one more important nuance - when restoring pictures from a camera card, it is best to use a card reader. This device greatly facilitates and speeds up working with the camera’s memory card, and most importantly, helps to avoid many problems (there is no need to download and install drivers for digital electronics; when using many card readers, it becomes possible to record information from a computer to a memory card, etc.). In addition, memory cards connected to a computer via a card reader are better recognized by software, in particular by photoresuscitation programs. In practice, this means that even if, after connecting the camera to your computer, you cannot find the memory card in the list of logical drives, then thanks to the card reader you still have a chance to recover damaged or deleted photos, since any card reader is automatically detected by the computer as a new drive, which will appear in Explorer.

Under no circumstances should you restore pictures found by the utility to the scanned device due to the danger of overwriting the sectors of interest - usually the recovered data is saved to a hard drive or flash drive (of course, another drive and another flash drive, if we are talking about recovering photos from these devices).

Utilities for recovering lost snapshots

Theoretically, to restore accidentally deleted and lost photographs, you can use both complex software products for restoring various types of data, and highly specialized photo restoration programs. The first ones are more convenient in the sense that they are able to come to the rescue when recovering a wide variety of information from a hard drive and other digital media: MS Office documents, archive files, email databases, photos, music and video files, etc. At the same time, you can recover not only accidentally deleted files (deleted from the Recycle Bin; deleted without going to the Recycle Bin), but also files damaged as a result of virus attacks and crashes, and files from deleted or formatted volumes, etc.

As for photo resuscitators, utilities of this kind can only restore pictures, and often also audio and video files (depending on the product), but they do this better than complex solutions, since the device analysis algorithms they use are focused on searching and restoring several specific types of files . In addition, in photo resuscitators you can always restore photos directly from the camera, which may not be supported in complex products.

In this article, we will give preference to photo rescuers (Hetman Photo Recovery, Stellar Photo Recovery and PhotoRescue Wizard), as well as those comprehensive software solutions for data recovery (MiniTool Power Data Recovery and Zero Assumption Recovery), which provide separate modules for image recovery. An exception is the Recuva utility, which was also included in the review, since this solution can be used for free, and, in our opinion, there are no noteworthy free photo resuscitators and complex products with modules for photo recovery on the market. True, as practice shows, Recuva is noticeably inferior to photo-reanimators in terms of image restoration (we, for example, were unable to get this utility to identify RAW images on formatted media that were correctly recognized and restored by photo-reanimators), but “in the absence of fish, as they say, cancer fish." So the possibilities for free image recovery for home users are very limited, although there are some chances to save some images for free and not only with the help of Recuva. In this sense, the MiniTool Power Data Recovery and Zero Assumption Recovery solutions are interesting. In the first software product, the demo version allows you to recover up to 1 GB of data from any device; in the demo version of the second utility, you can recover unlimited digital photos from cameras for free.

All presented products support a wide range of different devices (see table) - from hard drives to cameras (both amateur and professional) and work with a variety of types of memory cards, including Compact Flash, Micro Drive, Memory Stick, MultiMedia Card, PC Card, Secure Digital, SmartMedia, etc. Solutions allow you to recover not only accidentally deleted images, but also lost images (for example, as a result of quick formatting). Any of the products in question will help you recover JPEG photos. As for photographs in RAW formats, not everything is so simple. Theoretically, all software products featured in the article support the RAW format, but in practice most often it means supporting “raw” images for specific cameras (usually the most popular), so if you shoot in RAW, then you should always select tools taking into account RAW support. format of your camera.

MiniTool Power Data Recovery 6.6

Developer: MiniTool Solution Ltd

Distribution size: 5.64 MB

Running: Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7

http://www.powerdatarecovery.com/download.html)

This tool can be successfully used to recover files deleted from the Windows Recycle Bin, search and recover lost data (due to a virus attack, power failure, accidental formatting, partition deletion, etc.), as well as lost data from damaged hard drives and damaged, scratched or defective CD/DVD discs.

The program includes five built-in data recovery modules - Undelete Recovery, Damaged Partition Recovery, Lost Partition Recovery, Digital Media Recovery and CD & DVD Recovery (Fig. 1). Each module focuses on different data loss scenarios. The Undelete Recovery module is designed to recover files and folders deleted from the Recycle Bin or using the Shift+Del key combination. Works with hard and flash drives, as well as memory cards. Damaged Partition Recovery tool allows you to recover lost data from existing but damaged or formatted partitions. Partitions with MBR and dynamic disks are supported: Simple Volume, Spanned Volume, Stripped Volume and RAID-5 Volume. The Lost Partition Recovery module is used to recover data from a deleted or lost (for example, as a result of disk repartition) partition. As for the CD & DVD Recovery module, it is designed to recover lost and deleted files from damaged CD/DVD discs and can also recover data from RW discs formatted using Quick Format.

Rice. 1. Data recovery modules of the MiniTool Power Data Recovery program

From the perspective of this article, the Digital Media Recovery module, which we did not specify during the listing, is interesting. It recovers data from digital multimedia devices (flash drives, flash cards, memory cards, iPods, etc.), as well as other media, including hard drives, and is focused on recovering deleted or lost photos (including in RAW format), music (MP3 , MP4) and video files. The main graphic formats are supported for images (JPG, TIFF, DWG, PSD, CDR, PSP, PCX and PNG), as well as RAW formats of the most popular cameras: Canon, Kodak, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, etc. The module is suitable for both restoration deleted multimedia files and those lost as a result of formatting.

Understanding the nuances of recovering deleted and lost images in the MiniTool Power Data Recovery program is not difficult, since all operations are performed under the control of a step-by-step wizard. To save photos, just launch the Digital Media Recovery module, specify the device to be scanned and click the Full Scan button. Upon completion of the process, all found files will be conveniently grouped according to their format. Folders and files found during the analysis are marked with icons in the form of a cross, a question, or an exclamation mark. A cross serves to indicate accidentally deleted files, while other icons indicate lost data. Photos can be viewed directly from the utility before recovery - JPEG photos are displayed as thumbnails (Fig. 2); preview of RAW photos is possible by double clicking the mouse. After this, all that remains is to select the pictures you are interested in and save them to your hard or removable drive (the Save Files button).

Zero Assumption Recovery (ZAR) 9.2

Developer: ZAR data recovery

Distribution size: 3.74 MB

Running: Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/7

Distribution method: shareware (demo version - http://www.z-a-recovery.com/rus-download.htm)

Price: $59.95; for Russian-speaking users - 500 Yandex.Money; digital photo restoration is implemented in ZAR free of charge in full

ZAR is a comprehensive tool for recovering accidentally deleted and lost data from hard drives, memory cards, flash drives and other media. With its help, there is a chance to recover not only deleted files, but also information from formatted disks, NTFS volumes with a damaged partition table (MFT); recovery of hardware RAID0 and RAID5 arrays is possible. The program also implements photo recovery from digital cameras (Compact Flash memory, Memory Stick, Secure Digital, etc.). Three built-in modules are responsible for performing the listed tasks, but from the perspective of this article we are only interested in the “Photo Recovery” module (Fig. 3), which allows you to restore pictures that were accidentally deleted before they were transferred to the computer or became inaccessible due to some camera malfunction or due to formatting of the memory card.

Rice. 3. Data recovery modules of the ZAR program

The ZAR solution is clearly not designed for novice users, and the speed of scanning media in this program leaves much to be desired. However, unlike other competitors, restoring images from cameras in it does not involve payment, so this solution may be of interest to home users. To recover photos, you need to activate the Photo Recovery mode, select the desired device from the list and start scanning it. After this, the process of painstaking data analysis will begin, visually displayed on the device map (Fig. 4). This process will take a lot of time and may even fail - if the memory card is read by the camera itself and all the points on the “map” are red or the scanning is unacceptably slow (minutes pass without any change in the status indication), then you should interrupt the analysis and then repeat it, but with a card reader connected. Upon successful completion of scanning, the program will display a list of found photos; preview of images is possible by hovering the mouse (only for JPEG and TIFF; Fig. 5). By default, this list will include not only deleted and lost images, but also “live” photos, which makes it much more difficult to select the images you are interested in, so it is wiser to restore all found images “in bulk,” and only then figure out which ones you really need. The recovered images are saved to the folder specified on a specific disk.

PhotoRescue Wizard is a utility for recovering accidentally deleted and lost photographs, which is often among the leaders in various independent tests. The program works with all types of media used in digital cameras (SD Cards, CF Cards, Memeory Sticks, etc.), and can also recover photos from hard drives and other storage devices. It is suitable for recovering images in all popular graphic formats and many types of video files, but the algorithms of this utility are optimized for recovering JPG/JPEG and RAW images (RAW formats of many popular cameras are supported), as well as files in TIFF, GIF and BMP formats. The program has two scanning modes based on different algorithms - fast and deep (deep scanning takes more time, but provides better results). In addition to photo recovery, PhotoRescue Wizard can create a backup copy of a USB memory stick and save it to your hard drive.

An important advantage of the PhotoRescue photoreanimator is the combination of simplicity and efficiency. Restoring lost images in it is not difficult - in the simplest case (when the device is fully operational and there are no threats to the data), this will require just four clicks of the mouse (select the Quick Recovery or Advanced Recovery scanning mode, specify the device, start the scanning process, and then restore the found images), and all under the guidance of a master. However, as an example, we will take a more complicated route - we will restore photos from a problematic flash drive. To do this, first create a backup copy of it on your hard drive by clicking on the Backup Card button (Fig. 10). Upon completion of this process, we will open the resulting backup copy (Load Card Backup button) and restore data from this backup source, which will eliminate repeated attempts by the program to access the device, thereby preventing possible further data damage. Found images (including in RAW format) are displayed in the scan results in the form of thumbnails, the size of which is adjustable (Fig. 11). Recovered pictures are saved to a user-specified drive.

Recuva 1.45

Developer: Piriform Ltd

Distribution size: 3.4 MB

Running: Windows 98/2000/XP/2003/Vista/7/8

Distribution method: commercialware (http://www.piriform.com/recuva/download)

Price: Business - $24.95; Home - $19.95; Free - free

Recuva is a very easy-to-use utility for recovering files of various types (photos, documents, music and video files, etc.) from hard drives, as well as from any rewritable media (flash drives, external hard drives, memory cards, etc.). Using this utility, you can recover accidentally deleted files, return files that were deleted as a result of system errors, crashes, virus attacks, and also try to recover files from formatted or damaged disks and reformatted memory cards. In terms of images, the main raster formats are supported, as well as RAW formats of Nikon and Canon cameras. The scan can be quick or deep; deep scanning allows you to identify a larger number of files “buried” on the analyzed disk, but it takes longer. Additionally, the program can be used to ensure guaranteed data deletion.

File recovery in Recuva is carried out under the guidance of a wizard or independently in advanced mode. If the wizard prompts are used, then the user just needs to select the device and indicate the file types of interest (in this article, image search is relevant; Fig. 12). When working in advanced mode, you can fine-tune the search parameters - use a filter to narrow the search area, enable folder structure restoration, etc. Once the scan is complete, a list of found files is displayed; JPEG images will automatically be presented as thumbnails (Fig. 13). In advanced mode, found files, depending on the chances of recovery, are additionally marked in different colors (red, yellow and green).

Don't despair if you accidentally deleted valuable photos or lost photos for some other reason. Most likely, everything can still be fixed if you connect specialized software for image recovery and follow the rules of the game - that is, exclude the possibility of recording other data on the appropriate digital media, save the recovered images on any other available device, etc. In addition, it is wiser to take care in advance that such a cataclysm does not take you by surprise - in other words, you should keep several suitable photo-reanimators on hand (that is, installed on the disk) and restore information as soon as possible. And don’t forget that the algorithms for analyzing devices for such utilities are different, and each case of data loss is unique in itself, so if one photo-reanimator fails, you should definitely give another a chance - it is possible that the results will be positive. However, not even the most expensive and powerful solution guarantees absolute success, so you shouldn’t forget about reserving your photo collection.

Today we will look at special programs that will help us recover deleted photos on Android and other data lost for one reason or another.

The Android operating system is installed on most smartphones and tablets produced by manufacturers today. As with any system, various glitches occur in Android. It's not uncommon for your favorite photos and other files to disappear.

Today's article is not intended to identify the best data recovery program. We will only show which ones exist, and the user will choose the one that suits him. It is worth noting that where one program did not cope with the task, another can help and vice versa. It all depends on the specific case. So to say that some method is worse and some is better would not be entirely correct. For best results, it is recommended to open super user rights on your device. You can read how to do this in a separate article.

In today's article, we looked at several ways that will help the user get back his lost photos. The number of such programs is very large and does not allow us to cover them all in one article. However, the applications presented above fully cope with their tasks. Sometimes, due to various reasons, such a failure may occur that even the most powerful program will not be able to return your photos to you. To prevent data loss, it is recommended to always back up to another device or cloud storage, following the adage that you should not put all your eggs in one basket.

Dear readers! If you have any questions or comments on the topic of the article, please leave them below.

A photo mistakenly deleted from a computer or flash drive is an annoying nuisance. Do not despair, because in most cases it is possible to restore photos, but you will have to use specialized programs for this.

What programs exist

There is a lot of software for recovery procedures, and they differ in the percentage of ability to recover lost files. There are, for example, very powerful programs like File Scavenger that recover deleted photos even after formatting the media multiple times.

It should be immediately noted that the best program for photo recovery is RS Photo Recovery, however, it is paid, but if you want to save your time and nerves, we strongly recommend it. As far as we can remember, no one had any problems with it. You can find information on how to purchase the program and use it.

How to recover deleted photos using Recuva

The free version of Recuva is perhaps the most popular file recovery product, using which we will walk through the entire process as an example. Let us immediately note that all such software is “tailored” not only for jpg, raw and other graphic files, but is a complex program for working with lost data. But since we are interested in the question of how to recover deleted photos, we will focus on the most popular format - jpg.

Installing Recuva on your computer

This free program has a user-friendly interface and is extremely easy to use.

Installation is standard:

Comment. In the “actions” tab from the settings menu, you should select options for recovering from hidden folders, displaying securely deleted items, in-depth analysis, working with damaged media, and restoring the folder structure.

Search

Comment. After formatting the external storage device in another file system, it will be impossible to recover the erased files.

Photo recovery

At the end of the search, a list of found graphic files will be displayed on the screen. Recuva will show which options are suitable for restoration (green circle), which may have problems (yellow) and which are lost (red). In the checkboxes, place the checkboxes opposite the desired photos (a preview of them is available on the right) and click the “restore” button, after which we indicate the location for their placement.

Comment. To avoid errors, it is best to indicate the location of the recovered files on the computer’s hard drive, and not on external media.

Some features of Recuva software

The free version of the program, according to the developers, does not have an improved file recovery function, but according to user reviews there are no significant differences. After deep formatting with a file system change, both the paid and free versions are equally problematic in restoring information, so you may not notice much of a difference.

How to recover photos for users of Mac OS or Linux platforms

Although Recuva is most widely used on Windows, the version for Mac OS works no worse. Both options can be downloaded on the official website, and for Linux users there are no problems at all - the Wine interface easily copes with the latest “windowed” versions.

Hello, dear friends! Today we’ll talk about whether it’s possible to recover deleted photos. I’ll say right away that this can be done, but I must warn you:

Attention: after accidentally deleting a photo, IMMEDIATELY stop all work on this device!

I write on a device because it doesn’t matter what you work on: a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

The thing is that after deletion, the data remains in the same place, in the same memory cells. Only now in the data markup table the entry that a photograph is saved in these memory cells is deleted. If you continue to work on the device, download any data, save something, new data may be written to the memory addresses in which the photo is stored.

If you overwrite, you can say goodbye to your photos, so be careful and After accidental deletion, stop all work immediately.

If the conditions are met, I hasten to please you: you can recover deleted photos. I will show you how to do this using examples of various programs later in the article.

How to recover deleted photos

To facilitate photo recovery, many programs have long been written:

  • PC Inspector File Recovery
  • R.saver
  • RS Photo Recovery
  • Recuva Free
  • Tenorshare iPhone Data Recovery
  • PhotoRec
  • DMDE
  • GetDataBack

It is important to understand that the program cannot be installed on a disk on which you will have to recover deleted photos. You should install it on another hard drive or use the Portable version, launched, for example, from a flash drive.

I propose to briefly dwell on each of these programs.

PC Inspector File Recovery

Great program. Can work with various file systems (FAT 16, FAT 32, NTFS). Can recover various types of files, as well as deleted disks. It even works with network drives!

You can specify the time and date of the files being restored. It is very comfortable.

You select the type of data to be recovered, the media, click restore and the program does everything itself and even shows the probability of recovery.

R.Saver

The program recovers data even if the file system is damaged. It has a user-friendly interface and has the ability to recover photos even after formatting the disk.

Recuva Free

A very popular program. I use it often at work, so I can confidently recommend it. The program is free and recovers various data (photos, videos, music, texts, archives) from various types of devices. Including from phones and music players.

DMDE

Also a good program (in fact, they are all good). The advantage of DMDE is that it is Portable (this means that the program can be transferred to a USB flash drive and used without installing it on a computer). In this article we will look at how to use this program.

GetDataBack

Quite a powerful program. Therefore, it is somewhat more difficult to work with it: there are different versions for file systems (for FAT and for NTFS).

The program recovers deleted files even after reinstalling the operating system (again, if they were not overwritten by new files)

Recovery in Practice

I suggest moving from simple to complex. And to begin with, the easiest option is to check the cart. If you used the Delete key or right-clicked -> Delete, your photos ended up in the trash (and that's a good thing).

To remove photos from the recycle bin, you need to right-click on the “Recycle Bin” shortcut and select “Open”

The cart contents window will appear in front of us:

In the list of files we see deleted photos. All that remains is to select the ones you need, right-click -> “Restore”. The photo will be restored to the folder from which it was deleted.

How to recover deleted photos from the recycle bin

In this case, you will have to use special programs. Let's look at the ones that I use myself.

Get deleted photos back using GetDataBack

Use DMDE program

First of all, download the program. To do this, click on the button below:

We need to select a console for Windows:

After launch, select Russian language, click “Ok”

Next, we accept the license agreement (put a cross and click the “Accept” button)

The next stage is that we need to decide where we will look for deleted photos. If everything is in order with the disk, we know where the folder was, then select “Logical drives”, and in the right column the drive letter on which the folder was located.

Next, select “Full Scan”

Click “Scan” and wait for some time (not very long)

As a result, we get a list with the number of files of different types. Our task is to click “Save”

In the next window, in the left column, select “Graphics”. These are all the images from the disk, and on the right - jpeg (my photos are saved in this extension)

A list of jpeg files opens. Somewhere among them are our photos. The problem is that the names are indicated by numbers. Therefore, you will have to save all the images found, and then select the necessary ones from them

To select files, press the insert (ins) key. You can hold down and wait until all the files are selected. To save, press Ctrl+U. Pay attention to the saving path of our photos. It is listed in the bottom line and is located in the program folder by default.

This completes the work with DMDE, go to the folder and look at the saved images. Among them we find deleted photos and copy them where we need them.

Recuva for recovery

Of course, first of all, download the program distribution kit:

Click the “Download free version” button

Then we learn to use the program: select the “picture” file type, click “Next”, and indicate the folder in which to look for accidentally deleted photos:

Click “Start” and we see that the search process is underway:

For better work, we need to switch to advanced mode, then select the file type (graphics) and click the “Analysis” button. A table will appear with a list of pictures, from which we can only select the ones needed for recovery.

The table is quite informative; if you drag the slider to the right, you can see the modification date, size and other useful data that will allow you to correctly identify deleted photos.

This ends the work with the Recuva program, the photos are restored (usually :)).

Recovering photos in Android

How to return a photo to your camera

Here you need to understand the meaning. A camera is a device just like a computer. It has a facility for storing information. Typically this is a flash drive.

Our task is simply to gain access to the camera’s flash drive via a computer.

To do this, you can use special devices called Card Readers.

It is also worth noting that modern laptops have a built-in Card Reader, through which you can access the camera’s flash drive (sometimes an adapter is needed for this).

Accidentally deleted photos from your phone or tablet?

Again, no problem. The main thing is not to forget that you need to react quickly and you should not save new data to your devices, as well as update them.

In this case, our task is to connect the phone or tablet to the computer via a USB cable, which will allow us to see the device memory in the “My Computer” window. Then we work by analogy with a camera.

Accidentally deleted photos from iPhone

Finally, we got to a special case: photos were deleted from the iPhone. Here the algorithm of actions is slightly different:

  1. Try to remove photos from the recycle bin;
  2. Use iPhone Recovery;
  3. Use synchronization.

Let's go in order. In the version of the IOS 8 operating system, you can quickly and easily recover deleted photos.

To do this, go to the “Photos” application and find the “Deleted Photos” album. All photos deleted from the iPhone end up in this album and are stored there for some time. This is very convenient in case of accidental deletions.

We just need to mark those photos that need to be restored, then click the “Recover” button!

We will use point two in the case where time has been lost, photos have been deleted from the recycle bin, but there is still a need to restore them. This item will also help to recover photos from older devices (IOS 7 and earlier) or, for example, in case of problems with the device.

The task is:

  • Launch the program, connect the iPhone to the computer;
  • Press the “Start Scan” button;
  • Select “Camera Roll” in the left column;
  • Select the deleted photos and click “Recover”.

Sync using iTunes

Of course, any self-respecting user of Apple technology should have iTunes in their arsenal. One of the useful properties of this program is the ability to create backup copies. In case of accidental deletion of photos, you can get them from the backup copy (the main thing is that there are these copies).

  • connect iPhone to computer
  • Find it in iTunes, right-click and select “Restore from backup”
  • Select a copy and agree to restore

Accidentally deleting photos on a phone or smartphone running Android or iOS is an unpleasant situation, but in most cases it can be corrected. Today, there are several effective methods for recovering photos erased from a gadget’s memory card. In this case, you can use both the capabilities built into the system and additional software.

Photo recovery on Android

Regardless of what OS the phone is running on, when you erase any information from it, it does not completely disappear from the memory card. The space that was previously occupied by deleted files is simply classified as free, meaning the system now knows that it can be used to write new data. This means that as long as the deleted photos have not been overwritten, it is possible to restore them.

You can get back erased photos from your phone using:

  • synchronization procedures with cloud data storage;
  • 7-Data Android Recovery programs;
  • Dr.Fone utilities.

Returning photos via cloud storage

The easiest way to revive accidentally deleted photos from your smartphone’s memory is to use the Google+ Photos cloud service. When you activate the synchronization function with this storage on your gadget, all images on your phone will automatically be saved to the Google+ virtual drive. This will allow you to access your photos from any device or personal computer, and also, if necessary, return lost files intact and safe.

To enable automatic saving of photos you must:

To recover deleted photos, you just need to log into Google Drive and save the required photos on the memory card of your phone or PC.

Please note that backup involves not only automatically saving new photos to Google+, but also deleting them from the storage when erasing files from the smartphone. To prevent this, if you accidentally delete an image, you must immediately turn off Wi-Fi on your device, thereby blocking synchronization.

Reanimation of photos via 7-Data Android Recovery

This program is designed specifically for the Android OS and allows you to recover not only deleted photos, but also other types of files (video, music, text, etc.).

The resuscitation procedure is as follows:

If this method does not help, then use another utility.

Using the Dr.Fone utility

Dr.Fone is another resuscitator program with which you can restore even contacts and SMS messages erased from your phone’s memory. To resuscitate you need:

Photo recovery on iOS

Apple phones and tablets also have many tools for restoring lost photos, of which the following are considered the most effective:

  • iTunes program;
  • iCloud cloud storage;
  • EaseUS MobiSaver utility.

iTunes is a program designed to download various content to iPhone and iPad, control the gadget via a PC, create OS backups, and also restore data erased from the smartphone. With its help you can revive photo, video files, contacts, SMS, etc.

To successfully restore via iTunes, you must have a backup copy of your device on your computer.

The resuscitation procedure will be as follows:

iCloud is an analogue of Google cloud storage, only for iOS. To use it, synchronization must be activated on your phone.

As with Google+, if you accidentally delete a photo, you just need to go to the cloud storage and restore the images from an existing copy.
